[T]he group's blend of Americana type folk, and bluegrass looms as short, sweet and to the point...The musicians use banjos, guitars, bass, and mandolins to coincide with multi-part vocal harmonies and notions of old-fashioned, good cheer. To that end, the artists' inspirational muse aims to temper the negative energies that often permeate the complex world we inhabit. -- Glenn Astarita, Downbeat Magazine
It is good to come across a band that is true to its roots; Southwind perform their music in an exemplary manner, carrying forward the traditions of yesteryear with the meticulous sound of today. The album has excellent examples of Appalachian music, which, in the wrong hands, can often be very poorly interpreted, but not so with Southwind...An album well worthwhile purchasing by devotees and newcomers alike.
